Senate passes health care bills from Salem Sen. Deb Patterson

Work in the Oregon Legislature was slowed after a positive coronavirus case forced the House of Representatives to cancel floor sessions from Tuesday onward.

Legislative committee hearings continued virtually (as they have been all year) but without floor sessions, bills cannot be passed through to the other chamber or to the governor’s desk.

However, the Senate continued floor sessions, passing the majority of the 40 bills that were considered in either the House or the Senate last week.

Sen. Deb Patterson, D-Salem, had a noteworthy week, with several bills she chief sponsored passing the Senate. She is the chair of the Senate Health Care committee and has largely focused on that area during her first few months in office.
